Why Ella has not become (fortunately) talk of the town yet

Every time we eat at Ella, it's bustling. Open all day, the crowd varies but there's a consistent pattern. Couples with young children, groups of two or three often at a table, and many foreigners. As a parent of a four-year-old daughter myself, I want you to believe me when I say that the restaurant you choose to go with your child has been through a thousand sieves. For the obvious reasons: cleanliness, quality, flavors that even a palate just beginning its education can understand, but also for the atmosphere of hospitality. Ella has a familiar quality, it's affordable and friendly, conveniently located near the center's attractions and Plaka, and has an excellent value-for-money relationship. It doesn't need further explanation why it attracts many foreign visitors. Yet what always surprises me is why it doesn't seem to be much discussed in 'gourmet' circles. Not that it needs to be, I just comment on it for observation's sake. And I have the answer. It's not fashionable. Thankfully.
